Additionally, you should be aware of this microsoft article http://support.microsoft.com/?id=331078 concerning the use of netstat -an and listening status on local ports.
3rd party tools can also show the below behavior.
Updated 2000 and 2003 servers will show many ports with repeated Sametime services in a "Listening" state
on local 0.0.0.0 and 127.0.0.1 addresses.
